Forest School

At Back to Earth, our Forest School is a joyful, play-based outdoor program for children ages 3–12. We gather on Fridays and spend our time immersed in the natural world–rain or shine.

Each week includes plenty of unstructured play, nature walks, gardening, fort building, and hands-on activities like outdoor cooking and crafting with natural materials. Children might help tend the chickens, explore primitive skills, or collaborate on building projects—all while developing resilience, creativity, and confidence.

Our time together follows a gentle rhythm, with an opening circle, a shared snack, and opportunities for handwork or storytelling.

We offer two mixed-age groups—one for ages 3–6 and another for ages 6–12. This diversity creates a dynamic, supportive community where older children model and guide, and younger children bring fresh energy and wonder. The result is a deeply rooted sense of belonging, learning, and play in nature.
